INSTITUTE of DRIVER EDUCATION & RESEARCH

IDER

The Four Aims of the Institute of D.E.R. are:

  1. To provide a structured system of self-help for those involved in professional driver education who are studying for university degree courses and qualifications in Road Safety Education;
  2. To provide a One-Stop Listing of all ADIs holding Higher Degrees, Ordinary and Honours Degrees, Diplomas and Certificates in Driver Education; and to act as a conduit for all members to interact and assist each other;
  3. To develop a library of written and Research material of Road Safety Education Projects: to be accessed by fellow students and promulgated to the press and other road safety outlets as needed;  and
  4. To seek commercial interest and funding for Research Projects intended to explore and develop road safety generally, and driver education specifically, through Research, Training and Investigation.

The DERF has agreed to form a separate INSTITUTE of DRIVER EDUCATION & RESEARCH to give recognition to those ADIs who are working towards, or already have gained, Academic Recognition of their Vocational Skills and Abilities.  It is aimed to separate temporary ADIs from those who intend to make a professional career in this commercial industry.
